I am a freelance communications and marketing professional with twelve years of experience. I have been editing books since I attended the University of Denver’s Publishing Institute in 2009. As life often veers from the path we have planned for ourselves, instead of working at a book publisher upon graduation, I landed at a start-up tech company in marketing and communications.
For the next seven years I worked in marketing, public relations, media, and corporate communications for various industries including technology, government, and publishing.
In 2014, I began working for a small independent press first as managing editor and then as editorial director. At the same time, I worked short-term as a freelance marketer for a couple of nonprofits in the Boise area.
In 2018 I decided to leave the small press and start my own company, Kayla Church Communications. I am committed to helping each client tell their story, whether in print or on the web. While books are my first love, I also have a passion for helping businesses and people with their communications needs.
